Episode 2 – Even nature can’t send it packing! Seven weeks after the initial flood of black oil down the side of my organic garden every day I return to the gully in hope.
Has it stopped coming down the drain? Is it still smelling with such extremity that I have to cover my nostrils? Why won’t it stop? Will it ever clear, even after torrential rainfall? Sadly, my hopes are crushed by the incessant flow, small as it may be. This continues to seep into any part of the gully which has a ‘holding’ area.
I have taken to using the hose to try to shift it, which it does, but that clearance only lasts for one day. Fresh air for one day!
It is not only depressing, it is disheartening and all the years of my organic endeavours seem catastrophically to have been endangered and wasted.
