Frozen Ground
On the 6th January 2025 Leicestershire was frozen solid allowing very heavy rainfall the previous night to slide down all surfaces in great sheets and torrents overwhelming any normal drainage systems. People have said the ground was ‘saturated’ that’s why the water was so overwhelming. Actually, the ground, earth, soil, all man-made surfaces were frozen so water chose its own path. Mostly down our man-made paths, roads and often across roundabouts. This was flash flooding in its extremities.
