Bees in April
Trees start to come into flower giving bees many opportunities to both enjoy the stronger sunshine and also to feed unsparingly, often repeating journeys to the same flower over and over again. Recorded April 2022.
Once again in April 2023, there have been very few bee visitors to any of the plants featured .
Sadly, bee visitors in April 2024 have diminished, it has been an exceptionally wet winter and early spring. Very warm temperatures have brought blossoming trees on into flower which would normally flourish in early May.
This year 2025, the cherry flowered in March which attracted larger numbers of solitary bees. The red currant blossomed magnificently in early April and attracted a whole range of bees.
